Space HijinksRuby Dixon brings to life the most interesting characters and this time she has outdone herself with the Corsairs and their mates。 Of all of them my favourite is Helen。 She shines and sparkles， embarrasses friends with very candid conversation and is adorable。 Just ask Mathiras！

The pacing on this one was off for me - almost all of the plot was resolved 2/3rds of the way in。 Helen being too forward was a funny gimmick at first， but got real old by the end; the fact that nobody told her to keep certain things private was wild。

The Best ！！！Ok I literally love every book from this author。 Ruby’s writing is insane and I’m insane too。 I love reading at a fast pace and she bring these stories to life so fast and I love it。 This serials have been amazing and I can’t wait until the next book。 Also I do love that she didn’t make Helen pregnant yet。 But we need a little novella because I want Helen to give the ladies combat training。

I follow RD on Facebook & catch up the serials on her website。 She’s an awesome author and generous with her freebies。 I love the Corsairs and hope we get to see more of them in the future。 This was was a bit more intense in parts for me but also had me laughing。 Can’t wait to see what’s next。 Ruby’s creativity and imagination is as big as her universe。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I read this book as a serial as it was posted on the author’s website， and I actually enjoyed the story overall while reading it as a daily serial， but unfortunately the epilogue that was added after-the-fact for the final published book just completely ruined it for me。 In light of Roe vs。 Wade being overturned in the US at the same time that this epilogue was written， having an epilogue that was entirely focused on the “magic” of having babies was so messed up。 I have no idea about the author’ I read this book as a serial as it was posted on the author’s website， and I actually enjoyed the story overall while reading it as a daily serial， but unfortunately the epilogue that was added after-the-fact for the final published book just completely ruined it for me。 In light of Roe vs。 Wade being overturned in the US at the same time that this epilogue was written， having an epilogue that was entirely focused on the “magic” of having babies was so messed up。 I have no idea about the author’s personal views on the subject or whether or not this was intentional， but the epilogue definitely came across as being written in poor taste。 The epilogue even included dialogue about how “ethically terminating” clones is wrong， because the clones did not ask to be made; and the author goes out of her way to make sure that the reader knows that even though Helen is not pregnant by the end of the book， Helen WILL want to have her own babies （just not right NOW）， like there’s something wrong with the female lead if she’s already fulfilled by her found-family and does not eventually want to devote her life to popping out babies。I have enjoyed many of this author’s other Risda-verse and Corsair books， but I never could get through her Ice Planet Barbarian or Ice Home series， because the whole “resonance” plot device used in those series （i。e。， women being forced to have babies and having no choice in their partners at all， because the “khui decides”） really rubbed me the wrong way。 The fact that this Corsairs serial has also started focusing on every single one of the female leads wanting babies was definitely disappointing for me， especially in the context that these same female leads were kidnapped and genetically modified against their will。 The content/tone of the epilogue for this Matthias/Helen serial （whether it was intentional or not by the author） in particular just did not sit well with me at all。So while I initially enjoyed the daily serial as it was posted， I can’t recommend this book overall anymore， in light of current events in my country。 。。。more

Been reading this every day for the past few months as it slowly gets posted on the ruby dixon fb page 😅 enjoyed it。 Helen made me laugh a lot， but iv forgotten most of what happened earlier in the book so need to reread sometime to actually rate it but I love all ruby dixon books
